About this Site

I have put this site together with the idea in mind of being able to provide assistance to people who are new to computers, computing and the Internet.

If you fit into one of these categories, you may find this web site useful:

- People who have never used a computer before
- People who know a little bit about computers, but wish to find out more.
- People who feel confident using a computer, but want to start leaning about things such as networking, email, web sites and other such topics.

This web site has been set up to help anyone who wants to get clear explanations, help and guidance on topics that relate to computers, computing and the Internet.

There are many sites that already offer this type of service but many of them do not provide the assistance in words or ways that people with little to no computer knowledge or experience can understand.

This is the primary goal of my web site.

In the years I have been working in the IT area I have noticed that people who are not 'computer literate' usually don't receive very clear explanations to their problems or questions.

With this web site I am hoping to create a large database or collection of information and advice that will assist the 'average Joe or Josephine' in learning just a little bit more about computers, the Internet and day to day technology.

Primarily the information will be provided as simplified explanations, however some detailed explanations will also be provided on a subject to subject basis.

About Me

I've been working in the electronics and I.T. (Information Technology) areas since 1983.

In this time I've worked with and on many different types of computers and computer systems. I've worked with some large corporations as well as looked after small PC networks run by Mom and Pop businesses.

I was working with computers before Windows became a household word and rolled out my first email solution in 1994.

A large part of my work over the years has included roles that have provided support to users of technology as well as creating clear and concise documentation that can be used to explain and detail that technology.
